The Rumanyika-Karagwe National Park is a newly converted park that was established in 2019. Covering an area of 247 square kilometres, it is located in the Kagera region close to the Lake Victoria zone, North West of Tanzania.
The vital middle of Rumanyika-Karagwe National Park is a deep valley with a swiping and winding river at its base. It breaks up into lakes and swamps. The lower slopes of the valley are closely vegetated with woodlands and thick bushes. The higher slopes of the valley have Acacia tall grass woodlands that are excellent and are simply stored openly by the means of seasonal fires.
The park boasts a natural forest along with a wide diversity of wild animals and birds. This is renowned for bird-watching enthusiasts and also those who love exploring new destinations. We genuinely recommend adding RumanyikaKaragwe National Park to your Tanzania Safari Tours for a memorable safari.
The best time to visit Rumanyika-Karagwe national park is during the dry season between June to October. It is a great time for enjoying wildflowers and butterflies. You can see animals around the water sources and the thin vegetation makes it easier to sight. However, many parts of the park are well-drained and easily accessible all year round.
The wet season from January to April has also some unique advantages. This time is ideal for bird lovers although accessibility through most roads becomes impossible because of heavy rains.
