Ibanda National Park previously known as Ibanda Game Reserve is located in Kagera Region in the Kyerwa district, Tanzania. Stretching an area of 200 square Kilometres, the park is affluent in wildlife attractions. The park is the hidden treasure in the Western corner of the country and a paradise with spectacular beauty. It contains rolling hills, plains of Acacia savannahs, the beautiful lakes and swamps that surely blow your mind on your Tanzania Safari. Kragera River is the major source of water for Ibanda National Park and cherishes its rich resources.

Best Time To Visit Ibanda

The best time to visit the Ibanda National Park is the dry season from June to October, though the park is well-visited throughout the year. This is when you can sight the stunning views of wildlife through the thin vegetable. You can see them gathering around the water sources and grazing on the savannah plain. Apart from that the park also experiences two rainy seasons in a year. Basically, these are known as the low season. The short rainy season - from October to November The long rainy season - from March to May. This is the best time for bird lovers and photographers as nature looks vibrant giving the best shots on camera.

Hippos can be seen in the Kragera River and in some lakes and swamps in the park. As the herbivores are found in good quantity in Ibanda National Park, it also fascinates the predators dramatically. You can sight leopards and hyenas among others.
